You can be a part of Philadelphia’s oldest and proudest tradition!
Duffy String Band is always welcoming new members … from musicians to marshals to dancers!
If you do not play an instrument, but are interested in learning, please don’t hesitate to join. Duffy String Band’s members will teach you any of the traditional string band instruments ... saxophone, banjo, bass, drum, cymbals, glockenspiel, fiddle, accordion and clarinet.
If you do not wish to play an instrument, consider becoming a marshal or dancer. Marshals assist the band members during parades and handle our props on New Year’s Day, while dancers take part in all of our performances. Non-playing members are considered equally vital to our band’s success!
